Above you see a majic eye which was a vacumm tube which looked like an eye and changed its appearence with the power of the radio signal. It was used to tune the radio to the best signal.
Above left you see an early radio set called a crystal radio because it used a piece of crystalline mineral such as galena which acted as a diode separating the audio signal from the radio frequency signal. These sets used just the power of the radio waves. They needed no batteries. You tuned it by sliding a slider across a coil of wire. You had to string a long antenna as far and as high as you could to trap the signals. These radios actually worked and one could listen to a few stations.

Education

To Sir With Love Player Piano   Alexanders Ragtime Band   Today's students cannot communicate with others who speak languages other than English. Humans need to be able to understand other humans especially in emergencies. Even elementary students can learn enough of the easiest language to correspond with other children in over 80 countries. This can be done in 10 minutes a day. It helps them to learn English better and helps their intelectual development. Also increases their interest in social studies and geography. Humans need to be able to understand each other especially in emergencies.


If one compares today's education in our local schools with the 8th grade education that children got a hundred years ago it is no contest at all. A large number of today's 12th grade graduates can't do math without a calculator, can't fill out a job application properly, and can't even read well. Half of the graduates of today's schools don't know who we fought in WWII, or why, or Korea, or Vietnam. Half can't name what the law of the land is or list the rights in the first 10 amendments, or make correct change without a calculator. Many can't find the USA on a blank map of the world or name capitals of the states or countries. They don't know how common things work. (I am a college professor and did a survey) They don't know how to cook, or survive outdoors. And they not only have little job skills but are not even ready to go into an occupation. In other words perhaps a majority of today's 12th grade graduates could not even pass the 6th grade examination of a hundred years ago. Here it is. Can they pass the 1890 6th grade test?
This has happened because of many factors. Our society no longer values education. Kids spend many more hours watching educationally and morally deficient and decadent television then they do in schools. And when in school they learn less than 1/10 th the time, because of large class sizes and because the teacher is forced to waste much time dealing with discipline problems instead of teaching, and because of poor expectations of parents and students to learning. The result is America is very much behind in comparison to many other countries in the world in educating children. And many other countries put their bright young people thru college or advanced technical training while America forces them try to eek out an existence at fast food places. Also as a result America is falling behind other countries in technology. As a result the decline of America is progressing rapidly.

When were the schools built?

Today's parenting and many students are an insult to real education. Don't blame the teachers. Why?

Heck no you can't find everything on the Internet. Now much information is obtained from the Internet which is partly censored and where information is sometimes controlled or not reported.
Observation:   they who control the media now may control the people or rather the sheeple. The big brothers are ever increasing their control. They control the banks and virtually all of our money. We are in a virtually electronically controlled money society now. Doubt that? How much of your banking and purchases are done in cash without electronic involvement? Do you get your income in cash? Do your pay your bills in cash? Who got bailed out? And who paid for it? Who now has to pay higher interest rates while the bankers pay little to none. Why the comments? Well this is history. Research these comments. Look at censorship. On 9-11 there were people dancing in the streets in Dearborn, and in the student union building at WSU. Every time the TV displayed a plane hitting the WTC they cheered. It was reported on some news. Now you cannot find a trace of those reports. Why? Censorship. Political correctness is also censorship. Saudi interests do own large pieces of news media, TV stations and many newspapers. A reporter dare not publish a story, even if it is the truth the least negative about Ms or risk being threatened. Even some local libraries practice censorship. My DVDs were censored by the Warren library for unknown reasons. Many people have told me there is absolutely no reason to censor anything in my works. I am an old veteran and strive to tell the truth based on research. Sure I state a few opinions but they are educated ones which may not be politically correct. Martha Burczak's wonderful history book was pulled from the shelves. This is censorship. This was unfair to her and to people wanting to read about our local history. And it is against the constitution. Those of you who have a copy know there is nothing in that book that justifies this action. So now the people of Warren are deprived of both her and my histories which are the best and most accurate and researched histories published. Yet there are many videos with immoral content one can rent from the library. Don't forget Tom Sawyer was banned by some libraries because he used "nigger" which was the terminology of his time. I can see not giving sexually explicit material to children (none in my works) but to ban history books for reporting research based history is not only wrong but is a violation of our freedom of the press and a violation of the public's need to know.

Many of our young men served (I did) and many and died. I lost brothers. We served our country then those of us who survived came home and got insulted. It really makes us mad when the Warren Historical Society rips out soldiers memorials placed there by families. Memorials they do not own from a cemetery they do not own. They are not fit to live in this country. They have disrespected our soldiers who fought and died. This was ordered done by the officers of the Warren Historical Society and their husbands. To see their names those who did this desecration just go to the Warren historical gallery and pick up a flier listing those officers. Or visit them yourself any Monday evening there. It was not the society that did this rather their officers and husbands. No vote of the membership was taken and no public hearing was held. Nothing was found wrong with the memorials in the public meeting that followed. One of the Memorials was for Warren's Unknown Soldier whose marker they ripped off of a grave. Another was the only marker that listed 30 of our Warren boys who died and now there is no marker for future generations to see. They have desecrated and stolen the very granite names of these Warren men who died right out of the cemetery.

Feel free to come in any Monday evening to the historical research room in the West end of the Warren Community Center 5460 Arden West of Mound just North of Chicago Road (park in the far West lot) and give your opinion to the officers of the Warren Hysterical Society for their stealing of soldiers memorials and other memorials without just cause. I have no gripe against that other soldier and he has no gripe against me. We both have kids. So explain to me why we should kill each other. If you want to go to war so much you rich politician then you go. Don't send me or my sons and daughters to be killed so you can make money. Most wars can be prevented with discussions. There are better ways to solve disputes than killing. In most wars the innocent die, the guilty and greedy get rich. If they launch the nuclear missiles we will all die. Lets plan and work on securing Peace between all. But still we must be Informed, Vigilant and we must be Prepared to defend our town and neighborhood because the army will not be there.

  I did not include gorey videos or ones showing our men in pieces or the speech for the most part directed at the islamists responsible by men who just lost their friends. But you will have to forgive soldiers language because when you have just put your best friends body parts into a body bag one is not inclined to hold back ones feelings and expression of them in soldier language. I can assure you that the scenes you see here are only a glimpse of battle and what our men and women have gone thru is in many cases a lot worse than this for months on end. Remember each shot you hear could mean the end of a life for us or them. This is real real real not like the movies where actors get up and walk away.

Lessons and comments from looking at history

We must be prepared against attack from without and from within from humans and microbes. We need more medical research. The government allowed antibiotics to be put in animal feed. Now the bugs are becoming resistant to antibiotics. We are running out of treatments against them. Anti human bacteria and viruses are increasing. Mankind is not doing enough research on fighting them.     In the old days the air was clean,   the water was pure, the ground wasn't littered with chemicals and you could eat fish from any stream or lake.
Now fish contain poison and people are dying from the air, water, and ground pollution. 2008 ALA report shows Warren high in year round particle pollution. This is unhealthy air causing deaths and global warming.. We need to clean up the enviroment before it is too late.

The history of mankind is full of needless brutal warfare and cruelty. It is our duty to our children to put an end to it.

We need a Code of Conduct for all Humans.
It should be:     Bring no harm to another by your actions or inaction,
Don't do to others what you would not want done to yourself.
In other words Love one Another and Kindness needs to be the standard.

People can learn in 5 minutes a day an international vocabulary so all humans can understand each other especially in emergencies. It is the quickest most time and cost efficient solution to understanding between over 1000 languages. See Easiest Language
This is not obvious when you are surrounded with people who mostly speak your native language. But in many parts of the USA and in most parts of the world people do not understand English. Except for tourist areas you go two blocks away from the tourist attraction and your English is worthless. I know I have been in many such areas. This easy to learn international vocabulary solves the problem of communication between languages, and it actually helps students learn English better. Check it out visit Easiest Language

In Michigan we have access to all the free water we need. Yet we pay to throw it away.
There is no need to pay Detroit's high price. We can just capture the water from the roof like they did in the old days. It is free and pure.

In the past windmills provided some free power. Now we can get free power from the sun. Get solar shingles or panels. Get government to pay for some of it. Become independent of the power company. Make them pay you.

Something is seriously wrong with the justice system. Justice for All has been killed by Justice only for a very high price. Attorney gods and their judge partners have taken over. In Feb 2009 a school girl cried for help from security guards because she was being attacked. Three guards just stood there and did nothing while the girl was brutally attacked knocked to the floor and severely kicked and beaten. They failed to act because they were afraid of expensive lawsuits. Many security guards around the country are not allowed to do anything for the same reason. Homeowners even those who have been repeatedly broken into can't do much to an invader for fear of outrageously expensive lawsuits, and have even been sued because the thieves injured themselves while inside the homeowners house or yard. Many people are wronged because they could not afford attorney's outrageous fees. Ordinary people are often ordered by judges to pay attorneys hundreds of dollars an hour. Malpractice and greed is rampant among attorneys. I have seen an attorney get a poor widows house for his fees. An attorney refused to let an innocent man state that he was innocent and why. Ordered him to plead guilty. That gave the innocent man a criminal record. Then the judge ordered the innocent homeless man to pay his appointed attorney $250 for five minutes of legal services. Attorneys like that are white collar criminals and should be sent to Pagan Island in the Pacific.

Someone is choking or drowning or in a car that is about to catch fire and good Samaritans are afraid to even give emergency help because of the possibility of expensive lawsuits.

Child protection gone nuts.
Everyone agrees children should not be harmed but because of attorneys school districts have ordered no paddling and even no shouting at students. In fact students are encouraged to report any teacher or parent incidents. Because of lawsuits and child protection laws any teacher that is reported for any alleged incident is automatically put on unpaid leave for 30 days. I know of several of these alleged incidents that caused a teacher to lose pay and enormous personal stress and had absolutely no grounds in fact at all. I have witnessed a teacher being set up. I overheard a girl confess that she had made up a story that a teacher who had given her an E grade had fondled her. I remember that that teacher was a family man with two children and because he had not got tenure was not rehired due to the fact that the alleged incident had hit the papers. He lost his job and his home and who would hire him if the school district he had worked for wouldn't. The Teachers are afraid of the Administration who is afraid of the School Board who is afraid of the parents and lawsuits. And the kids. They aren't afraid of anyone because they can make up a story against a teacher or parent and cost them dearly in legal fees. Teenagers have picked up on this and can and do threaten parents. Parents now-days are afraid of discipline for fear someone will call protective services and they will have to take off of work, perhaps get fired or pay large legal fees.

Where went Common Sense?
A local store had a big theft problem so they hired a security guard. The thieves found out that the guard would out run them and insist that they return the merchandise immediately. Well it worked and the theft rate dropped significantly. Corporate people investigated why this one store had such a low theft rate compared to other stores. When they discovered why they fired the guard. The theft rate was soon back thru the roof and you and I are paying for it.

Political correctness is a form of censorship and a form of stupidity that may cost us our freedom. See remarks about political elsewhere on this site.

Another common senseless item is 0 violence tolerance policies. Example: a teacher who was a veteran and who had training in disarming, had an opportunity to disarm a student that appeared to be getting ready to shoot a gun. The teacher had stepped into a hallway and had not been noticed by a gun pointing student who was facing the other way. However because of the 0 tolerance policy if he did so he would be fired. He therefore retreated to his room locked the door just in time to hear the gun go off. Of course no one wants needless violence but on rare occasion it has a place. 0 tolerance takes away a chance to save lives.
Another example: 0 tolerance for being late for work. There was an accident I saw on the way to work the second day of my new job. Help was needed. I saved a life. I got fired. Took me forever to get another job.

About crime. Swiftness, certainty and sufficiency of punishment where community, police and the justice system work together is a major deterrent to crime. Even more important is to prevent it. Proper parenting, the help of the community, adequate education, community expectations, and a code of conduct, are other important factors. Wonderful organizations like the Boy Scouts with community support are vital to our young people. They often provide knowledge and moral ideals otherwise missing in our society, especially considering the fact that children spend more time watching morally, educationally, and emotionally decadent television than they do learning in school. In Scouting boys often learn self sufficiency, outdoor survival skills, first aid, swimming, lifesaving, safety, leadership and many other desirable things not taught in schools and in many homes. They teach high moral ideals, integrity, personal and community responsibility. Many lives have been saved by scouts and many communities have benefited from scout good turns. My life was saved by a boy scout.

Lessons of history: Countries and people that don't learn from History are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. This professor believes that if this country does not learn from history and make corrections it will not exist as a free country in 30 years.

Our Bill of Rights gives us many Freedoms including: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press Freedom of Religion, Peaceful Assembly, Fair Trial Freedom to openly bear arms, Privacy. But Beware Now there are many people who are working to take your freedoms away. Do you doubt that? The right to privacy is in the constitution. Now organizations gather information about you and are allowed to sell it to anyone even foreign agents without your permission. Even our own government maintains detailed databases on each of us. Everyone wants your social security number and now drivers license number. Presidential orders allow the feds to take over in any "emergency" declared by the president at his discretion. They can take over from your own mayor and state government. Your right to a public hearing when being charged, right not to have your home and personal property searched with a search warrant and to a trial have all been partly taken away by the Patriot Act and Military Tribunal act. Most Americans have no idea this has happened.

President Jefferson warned us about bankers. Now we are slaves to big bankers. You are paying them to print your money, they are supported by the Fed, Even though they hold most of the money and are among the richest people they have received bailouts at taxpayer expense. They pay little to no interest but after the bailouts they raised the interest they are charging us. They pay much less than their fair share of taxes. They cause our children to fight wars they make profit on. Just follow the money. The top one percent own and control most of this country and are totally supported by us the poor little 99 percent. The middle class has become the forgotten class. Our Congress is full of rich self serving greedy persons who are not working for us but rather for themselves. Look at their record. Look at their history of voting and what they have done. Bailed out rich bankers, lined their pockets with money, wasted our tax dollars by the billions, spent the country broke then borrowed money from China. Now the Chinese are financing their military with American payback money. Something is seriously wrong with that picture. What should be done. First we need to become informed of what is going on then take positive action.

War on Islamic Terrorists 2001-Present 3,000 died on 9/11 over 5,000 have died since. Their method is: They hide and support terrorists from within large groups of complacent peaceful supporters. Their goal is to take over our country and dump our constitution by getting many accommodations and laws passed. Lying is part of their warfare. They want to take away our freedom of speech and discussions by getting "anti hate" laws passed. They want to make it like in some places in Europe. It you say anything negative about their ideology even if it is the truth you have to pay a fine. Lesson of history: If you allow killers, terrorists and their sympathizers to live amongst you they will hurt your children or others in time.

But don't take my or anyone's word for what they believe instead look at their actions around the world. Actions speak louder than words. "Honor Killings," religious killings, stonings, beheadings, child brides, child rape, much higher incidence of rape in the population, women slaves, intolerance killing out of all other religions. In America they have a stealth campaign to take over our country by building mosques, changing laws (such as anti hate laws that limit discussion), create enclaves, and increase their numbers by immigration, having lots of babies and recruiting in prisons and in universities. They quote parts of their bible which were revised (abrogated) by their profit and although still in the book have been replaced in practice. Example the no compulsion in religion statement. Look how they have killed and harassed and forced all other religions out of countries which they control. They have killed pastors and priests and burned churches. Christian and Jewish people are often their targets. Check this out yourself. Look at the actions and common practice in lands which they have taken over and now have control. The actions will show you what they really believe. Despite what they tell you their goal in reality is world domination and the eradication of all other religions.

We are not against M s who support full human rights to both women and men. We are just reporting important sometimes censored history to you which you can verify. Humans in communities across the United States and the world need a Code of Conduct for all Humans. That Code of Conduct should be: Bring no harm to another by your actions or inaction, Don't do to others what you would not want done to yourself. In other words Love one Another and Kindness needs to be the standard. This should be made the expectation of all human conduct. Those who seriously violate this or support those who deprive others of their full human rights, and those who support killing, should be deported to a DPI(distant deserted pacific island.) Rather than spend $25-35,000 a year each to wearhouse career criminals (about 1/5 of our state budget) let's ship them to a DPI. This includes AIG executives and other greedy CEOs and bankers who forced many hard working families out of their homes. We need to create Ample For All not wealth for the greedy. We the working people are fed up with being exploited. We demand equal and fair treatment. We should get the same medical, and retirement as members of congress. No CEO or other officer of an organization should be allowed to receive more than 10 times the rate of the lowest paid employee.
For too long we have been complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members Congress could retire with same pay after only one term, they specifically exempted themselves from laws passed (such as being exempt any fear prosecution sexual harassment) while ordinary must live under those laws. latest was to Healthcare Reform ... in all its forms. Somehow, doesn't seem logical. do not an elite is above law.

It doesn't matter if they are Democrat, Republican, or Independent. The self-serving must stop. We need an independent party of the people, not these rich guy clubs whose purpose is to fill their bank accounts with our hard earned money. Did you know they just got another big raise in the thousands of dollars while most of us struggle just to pay the bills. Perhaps we should throw them all out. A Constitutional Convention - this is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come. This is one proposal that really should be passed around. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution - "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.

Another Idea that needs to be put into law is that Private and public organizations should not be permitted to sell information about you without your written permission.

Make The Golden Rule the expectation and standard of human conduct.
